Hello, my name is Clare Griffiths.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist. As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I adhere to their Ethical Framework and good practice guidelines. I also hold a diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have an honours degree in Psychology.
I offer online face to face counselling on Teams, and telephone counselling. I have some availability to offer in person counselling in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas, however, this is on a case by case basis.
I trained as a Person Centred counsellor and I integrate other models of counselling such as Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have experience in long and short term therapy and also Single Session Therapy.
I have experience as a counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Support, The Elm Foundation (Domestic Abuse Support) and a Drug and Alcohol Abuse organisation. I have previously trained and worked as a Mental Health Nurse. I have lived experience and understanding of the challenges with neurodiversity. I currently work with Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) and other organisations that refer clients to me.
I work with clients who have a wide range of difficulties. These often include work related stress, anxiety, depression, stress, panic, neurodiversity, anger, trauma, bereavement, loss, phobias, family problems, relationships issues, low self-esteem, confidence & assertiveness, health concerns and many more issues that influence and have an emotional impact on everyday life.
If you are not sure if counselling will help, feel alone and unhappy, feel that you need emotional support and would you like to talk, be heard and understood or would like to explore making some changes, please reach out and we can discuss what would be most helpful for you at this time.
